TV mum of 14 Karen Derrico shares message for ex after announcing shock divorce

Family always sticks together, at least that’s the case with the Derrico’s – a family of 16 who rose to fame on their show Doubling Down with the Derricos.
Parents Karen and Deon shared the highs, lows and non-stop chaos of raising a whopping 14 kids.
The pair are mum and dad to Darain, 18, Derrick, 14, twins Dallas and Denver, 12, quintuplets Deniko, Dariz, Deonee, Daician and Daiten, 10, another set of twins Diez and Dior, seven and finally a set of triplets Dawsyn, De’Aren and Dyver, four.
But fans were left with questions about the future of the show when Karen and Deon announced their shock divorce in June 2024 after 19 years of marriage.
Following their split, Karen and Deon told People they were “unified” in parenting their 14 children.
”Together, we remain unified in the parenting of our 14 beautiful children – their well-being is our priority,” the former couple said.
“We thank everyone for their understanding and support as we move forward for the good of our family.”

Thankfully, fans of Doubling Down with the Derricos needn’t worry about the show with Deon confirming the family were filming a sixth season.
“Just so you guys are aware, we are currently filming everything that’s been going on,” Deon told his fans in an Instagram livestream video in July 2024.
“So you guys don’t have to keep asking. We already know. There’s a lot happening. A lot going on. A lot of moving parts. A lot of moving legs.”

Deon promised fans that they could “follow” along and “find out exactly what happened” leading up to his split from Karen.
“I don’t really want to go into it. It’s been a lot, as you guys can imagine,” Deon continued.
“We’ve been through a lot, as you guys can imagine. But we’re making it. We’re doing good.”
While viewers will be keen to see if and how the family dynamic has changed, Karen and Deon’s social media posts have been a good indication that while things have changed there is no bad blood between the parents.
In September 2024, Karen took to Instagram to wish her ex Deon a happy birthday.
“Differences set aside… I just wanted to say happy birthday to @deonderrico 🎂🎉 May the love of our children continue to exhaust you with love ❤️😊,” she wrote alongside a montage of family photos.

According to reports, Karen plans to keep the last name Derrico despite the split.
